As a small business owner with over 30 years of experience, Bill Jenkin brings strong fiscal and conservative leadership as a state legislator. He has served two terms as your state representative from the 16th District, and believes strongly that the state's priority should be to promote common sense policies that create jobs and grow the economy.
Now, he's running to bring his experience as an effective, open and transparent legislator to the state Senate. In this election, Bill believes Washington must prioritize state spending to provide the greatest return on taxpayer dollars.
Bill is also working to expand Washington's wine industry to compete in an increasingly globalized economy and promote our district as a great place to work, live, visit and invest.
Born in San Diego, California and a graduate from the University of Redlands, Bill holds a bachelor’s degree in business management. He relocated to Prosser in 2007 to pursue his passion for wine making. He opened Prosser Vineyards and Winery and operate Bill's Tasting Room in downtown Prosser.
Bill is community minded, supporting a number of non-profits that give back. He was the founding chairman of the Prosser Boys and Girls Club, a board member for People of People, and is the past District Governor of Rotary District 5060. He served as the former Prosser school board president, and was two-time president of Prosser Chamber of Commerce.
Bill has been recognized for his service and dedication with the Distinguished Service, Volunteer of the Year, and Outstanding Citizen awards. Bill and his wife call Prosser home.
He serves on three committees in the Legislature: Housing, Community Development and Veterans (Ranking Member), Capital Budget, and Commerce and Gaming. In addition, Bill has been appointed to statewide committees on tourism, the 2020 Census, and international trade and economic development.
